Welcome to the summer Comic Book Workshop! In this camp, participants will brainstorm, write and draw their own short comic book. Campers will develop new characters and stories through a variety of fun and collaborative brainstorming exercises. We will practice drawing our characters in a variety of situations, get help from peers as we develop narratives, and learn technical skills like inking and lettering. Campers will learn about visual storytelling as we work toward our goal of producing a short collaborative booklet featuring each short story. All skill levels and artist abilities are welcome, but we will be drawing A LOT, so participants should be comfortable drawing and trying new things! Participants may come with preconceived ideas about a character or story, but they will be expected to stretch their thinking through a range of creative exercises.
