Step into the role of creator in this two-week camp, where students take the lead in writing, shaping, and performing their own original musical! From the very first day, campers drive the creative process: developing ideas, making artistic choices, and collaborating as a team to build a brand-new show from scratch. Including workshops from professional playwrights and songwriters, students will create the story, characters, dialogue, and songs that make up their musical. Through writing collaborations, songwriting sessions, and rehearsals in acting, singing, and movement, campers will see their ideas move from the page to the stage. Every student plays an active role as both a creator and a performer. The camp culminates in a fully staged performance of the students' original musical - a show written by them and performed by them. With an emphasis on collaboration, creativity, and student voice, Make-A-Musical! empowers young artists to take ownership of their work, trust their ideas, and experience the thrill of bringing an original story to life onstage.
