Camp Discovery is a weekly residential camping program designed to serve people with special needs. Activities include arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, music, games, contests, sports, dancing, movies, cabin activities, and swimming when weather permits. All programming is in direct consultation with and supervised by the Camp Director. Staff includes a core group of administrators, teachers, nurses, lifeguards, and college students in special education and related fields. The counselor-camper ratio is as close to one-to-three as possible. Two full-time nurses are available to dispense medications and provide First Aid. The campsite is located on 186 acres in the Flynn's Lick Creek area of Cordell Hull Lake in Jackson County, Tennessee, with fully insulated, heated, and air-conditioned dormitories.
