In this week-long art camp, students will explore the world of printmaking—learning how to transform their drawings into expressive prints. We’ll begin with some foundational drawing and design exercises before experimenting with hand-printed styrofoam plates to learn the basics of inking, composition, and creating texture. As the week progresses, students will dive into collage and mixed-media projects using their own misprints, magazine imagery, and found material to spark new creative ideas. Building on these skills, campers will explore linocut and reduction block printing with the chance to use portable presses to produce their own small edition of prints by the end of the week! Along the way, they’ll gain technical printmaking vocabulary like inking, registration, editioning, and reduction printing, while developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for the creative process in a new medium. By the end of the week, each student should go home with a new collection of prints to share.Additional Information
🕐 Extended Care
Open to lower/middle school campers attending a full-day or two half-day camps. Campers of all ages will enjoy various fun activities before and after camp and an afternoon snack. Time: 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Cost: $50 for AM care, $50 for PM care. If campers are not picked up 10 minutes after camp ends, they will be sent to Extended Care and charged a daily fee. Junior Camp will not offer Early Care or Extended Care.
📋 Cancellation Policy
Refunds for camps, less the $50 non-refundable deposit, will be issued for June camps if requested by May 1 and for July camps if requested by June 1. No refunds will be issued after these dates. Ensworth Summer Camps reserves the right to cancel due to low enrollment or health and safety-related concerns, in which case, refunds will be issued in full.
🍴 Lunch
Students who attend two half-day camps or a full-day camp during the same week may purchase or bring their lunch. The fee for lunch is $50 per week. Lunch runs from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
ℹ️ Additional Details
Grade levels refer to the camper’s grade in the 2026 – 2027 school year. All camps require a $50 deposit, which applies to the cost of the camp, or you may choose to pay in full at the time of registration. If you choose to pay the deposit, your online payment method will automatically be charged the balance due on the installment dates of the payment plan you select.
