Origami and Other Handy Hobbies is a hands-on opportunity to create. Campers will be introduced to origami, the traditional Japanese art of folding paper into representational shapes and figures, using a combination of creativity and mathematical principles, such as jumping frogs and flapping cranes for beginners. Campers will also learn how to make rainbow loom bracelets and various friendship bracelets. These “handy hobbies” can help children to develop concentration, focus, fine motor skills, patience and problem-solving as they learn how to assemble larger creations. Campers will learn a life-long skill that can be shared with anyone who has a passion for learning and creativity!Additional Information
📋 Cancellation Policy
A $25 non-refundable registration fee is included in the cost of each camp. For customers needing to cancel a camp, a full refund will be given (minus the $25 registration fee) prior to May 1, 2026. Any cancellations starting May 1, 2026 or later will not receive a refund. Cancelled camp fees cannot be held until 2027. We will make every effort to offer and staff courses as described in our brochure. However, it is possible that circumstances can necessitate a change. In the event that UTO cancels a course for any reason, including low registration, registrants will receive a full refund. If, after an offering in the summer program has begun, it becomes apparent that the UTO staff has not been made aware of specific medical or emotional needs that cannot be accommodated, or if the camper is uncooperative with instructors or a detriment to other students, the camper may be removed from any current or future camp that she/he may be registered to attend without refund. Due to supervision requirements and the preparation of supplies, the latest any camper may switch camps is the Thursday prior to the start of their camp on Monday. Camp Information and Health Guidelines - - - - Age: Campers must be 4 by June 1, 2026 in order to attend camp. Bathroom and Self-Care Policy: Under the Oaks, an outreach of Oak Hill School, is licensed by the State of Tennessee. Because we are not equipped as a diapering facility (according to Department of Education stipulations), all campers must be fully potty trained before attending camp. Of course we recognize that accidents may occur, but the school may also deem an excessive number of accidents as reason to ask parents to keep a child home until he/she is fully potty trained. Pull-ups are not to be worn at camp. With regards to self-care, the child must be able to wipe independently. Medication: Medical information must be provided for your child to attend camp. It is essential to have your child’s current health information in order to be able to ensure the safety and well-being of campers during their time at camp. The Oak Hill School Nurse can only accept medication for which we have authorized medication consent. Medication must be given directly to our Camp Nurse on or before your child’s first day of camp.
