A backpacking trip around Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest for teens ages 13-15. Campers spend 2 nights learning to pack a backpack, cook outside, set up camp, and live as a group outside. The trip includes beautiful trails, potential alpine lake swimming, and mountain views. Participants carry personal items plus shared group gear across multiple camping locations, developing backcountry competency and community bonds. Trip location depends on conditions and may include Chain Lakes Loop, Yellow Aster Butte, or Ptarmigan Ridge. Gear rental from the Mountaineers gear library is included in the camp fee. Preparation and debrief nights are spent at Baker Lodge. Instruction, food, gear, and transportation to/from camp are included.
